- The books and TV adaptation are divided on this topic. The following article will focus on the book version, citing the adaptation only where the book lacks information. For the adaptation's version, see Danny Clough
Duane Neddles, also known as Danny Clough, was an associate of Jack Carver and a relic-man. He was killed by the Bone Glass during an attempt to steal it. His body was left behind by Jack Carver, his companion, during the theft and later found by Lockwood & Co. agents[1].
In the Netflix adaptation, Duane Neddles is named Danny Clough and said to be one of the older agents during Anthony Lockwood's training. He is also implied to be rather "cool"[2] and formerly known by Lockwood[3].
Theft of the Bone Glass[]
- Main article: Bone Glass
Jack Carver and Duane Neddles stole the Bone Glass mere hours after it's excavation at Kensal Green Cemetery along with Edmund Bickerstaff's body. It was stored inside the church building, with the body and glass still inside the iron casket. The fast pace of the theft was only possible due to Albert Joplin, who tasked the Relic-men with it and had inside knowledge as the archivist of Sweet Dreams Excavation and Clearance. They broke into the building, knocked out an 11-year-old night watch kid and waited for dawn, when they lifted the coffin on it's side and took the Bone Glass[4], handling it with a cloth. They tried to escape the grounds over a river, but before they were able to reach it, Neddles looked into the glass, whether by accident or on purpose is not clear, and was killed by it. His body was wedged in-between two gravestones, with wide eyes of horror and a twisted face still visible[1].
