A. J. Lockwood & Co. Investigators, better known as simply Lockwood & Co. and sometimes referred to as Lockwood and Company, is an independent psychical investigation agency founded by Anthony Lockwood, operating at 35 Portland Row in London. The agency is small, only consisting of a 4 employees, with the aid of previous Fittes employee, Quill Kipps and relic woman Flo Bones.

History[]

The agency had been accredited just three months before Lucy applied, with Anthony Lockwood acquiring his license just one year prior.

Lockwood had a previous assistant prior to Lucy's joining named Robin. He died jumping off a roof after seeing a Raw-bones (Type Two spirit). He also said to have had a previous female assistant who was fired because she addressed Anthony Lockwood as “Big A.”

Popularity[]

Before Lucy Carlyle joined the agency, an ad, presumably from a newspaper, claimed that it was a 'well-known psychic investigations agency'. However, this proved to be a lie so that the agency could hire a new Junior Field Operative.[1]

After burning down a house, Lockwood & Co. had a bad reputation. The story was in The Times, a local newspaper, causing some of Lockwood & Co's clients to cancel. Lockwood & Co. started getting a better reputation again when they started investigating the case of Annabel Ward's death, which was also posted in The Times. Their reputation improves when the agency found the Source at Combe Carey Hall, one of the most haunted houses in Britain, and found out that their client, Mr. John Fairfax, had murdered Annabel Ward. As the series progresses, Lockwood And Co. gains a better reputation from famous cases like the Chelsea outbreak, the Rotwell Agency scandal, and their most prestigious case: the Marissa Fittes incident. Eventually, in the National Archives, a new section was added in honor of Anthony Lockwood, named the Anthony Lockwood Archives.
