Simon Wilberforce was an acquaintance and follower of the occultist Edmund Bickerstaff who perished after being forced to peer into the Bone Glass. He was forced to look into the Glass by another young follower[1], later revealed to be the Skull [2]. After his death, Wilberforce's corpse was left to rot by his peers and partially eaten by rats. His ghost haunts Hampstead Heath and attacks Lockwood & Co. and Kipps's team while during their operation in the building[3].
Work with Edmund Bickerstaff[]
- Main article: Edmund Bickerstaff
Simon Wilberforce had always taken a special interest in the afterlife, a fact which made him an easy target for Bickerstaff. He was a member of his cult, expendable to Bickerstaff, but useful. He was the first to look into the Bone Glass, scared, but convinced by Bickerstaff. More information about the afterlife was his heart's desire, but he did not want to look into the glass anyways. And, as he did, the only thing he did was scream. His body was left in Hampstead Heath as the other associates fled. Edmund Bickerstaff left him in the room to go after them, but never returned, as he was killed by Mary Dulac. This made his body a feast for the rats, which devoured him[3][4].
Haunting[]
After his passing, his ghost haunted the whole house, with especially strong phenomena noticeable in the study he passed. His main apparition was unrecognizable and always cloaked in shadow. Apart from this, he manifested as a horde of dangerous rats, that possessed the ability of ghost-touch and were hard to hit[3].
